A farm built to feed its neighbours first

Sharna began in 2009 with a simple belief: a community that can grow its own food is a community that can plan its own future.

Today we raise poultry for eggs and meat, grow maize, soya beans and vegetables, farm fish, and turn recycled paper into egg crates. Each line supports the others, and every one of them is aimed at the same goal, which is good food that families across Nigeria can rely on.

Our mission

To produce safe, affordable and high-quality food through responsible, integrated farming, and to build a business that nourishes our community, rewards our people and strengthens Nigeria’s food security.

Our vision

To be Nigeria’s most trusted integrated agribusiness, feeding families across the nation and carrying Nigerian-grown produce to the world.

What we grow and make

Four working lines on one farm, from the first egg of the morning to the crate it travels in.

Poultry farming

Table eggs and poultry meat, raised to a steady standard and supplied fresh to households, retailers and caterers.

About our poultry

Crop farming

Maize, soya beans and vegetables grown for food and for feed.

About our crops

Fish farming

Farmed fish, a dependable and affordable source of protein.

About our fish

Egg crates from recycled paper

We manufacture egg crates from recycled paper. Waste paper becomes safe, strong packaging for eggs, and fewer materials end up as litter.

About our egg crates

Growing more than food

We measure our work by the plates it fills, the people it employs and the land it leaves in good heart.

Integrated farming means we plan the whole farm together, so that crops, animals, water and packaging work with each other instead of against each other. It is how a family-scale idea becomes something that can help feed a nation.
